There are two types of lifelong learning (also called continuing education) opportunities for seniors: you can pay discounted tuition fees and join younger students in regular credit or non-credit courses, or else mingle with other retirees in non-credit, mostly daytime, senior-specific programs.

Since its beginnings as the Program in Gerontology (1979-1989), the first of its kind in Canada, the Institute for Life Course and Aging has provided the University of Toronto with its only interdisciplinary venue for the study of aging.

University of Toronto Institute for Life Course and Aging. fees at the domestic fee rate will be waived for all Canadian citizens or permanent residents 60 years of age or older by beginning of session, whether in a degree course, as visiting students or auditors. The fee waiver is capped for senior citizens to the level of tuition fees.
